Lillie Frances was born to Elvira (Simpson) Young and Francis Marion Young in Bandera county under tragic circumstances. She never knew her father as he was murdered before she was born.

He was on a trip to Austin to move the personal possessions of a man who hired him to make the trip. He never returned to Bandera, but his remains were found sometime later near Dripping Springs. His wagon and team were never seen again.

Lillie's mother married William Jefferson Shackelford in 1881 and their family moved to the Marathon area in about 1900.

Lillie was married to George W. Page in the early 1900's and they had 6 children, 4 sons & 2 daughters. Mr. Page ranched south of Marathon for nearly 50 years before retiring. (See G.W. Page entry). Lillie's older sister, Etta Melissa, married Thomas Sansom.
