His grandson, Thomas A. Hendricks, became the vice president of the United States. His son, Col. Thomas Hendricks, left Westmoreland County and founded the town of Greensburg in Decatur Co., Indiana.

"Died in Fairfield Township, Ligonier Valley, 2nd inst Abram Hendricks sr, esquire. He represented for some time in the state legislature, has since held office of Justice of the Peace, and at all times, in the full sense of the word, a peace maker, his amicable character and uniform integrity of conduct much endeared him to the society in which he lived."
