Lydia was the daughter of William Youngblood and Edith Lucinda Reed.

She first married James Henry Horton on 15 February 1839 in Wayne County, Tennessee.

They had the following children: William, Joseph Henderson, Elihu, Mary R., Zachariah James, Hiram, Ada, Louisa, and John Youngblood.

James died of pneumonia in a POW camp in Ohio, Camp Chase. Several years later,

Lydia married Robert Jasper Cypert, a widower, 30 June 1872.

She is buried near her parents.
