Mrs. Elna Ackerson, for over forty years a resident of this community, passed away at her home here, after only a few hours of actual illness, on Friday night, April 20, 1923, at the age of eighty-one years, two months and twenty-two days. Mrs. Ackerson was born Jan. 29, 1842, in Skane, Sweden. She was married to Nels Ackerson on December 31, 1868. She came to the United States with her husband and family in 1880, residing in Chicago for one year, after which they came to Minnesota. Her husband died two and a half years ago. One daughter died in childhood. She now leaves to mourn her loss four children: Mrs. Nels Parson, Andrew Ackerson, Miss Ellen Ackerson and Mrs. Herman J. Conradson; also eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Ackerson was a loving mother, a fervent Christian, being at the time of her death a member of Bethel church of this city. She was of a pious nature, and lived and died in a firm faith in her Lord. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery on Monday afternoon.
