Sarah Jane "Jennie" (Abers) Bridenbaker

In 1860 Sarah J is living with her family in Ellicottville, NY. In the home are: her father Garret Abers (born in New Jersey), mother Louisa (born in New York) and siblings, Irena 8, Benjamin, 6, George 4, Emory 2, and Laura 1. There is also a John (age 69) and Phoebe (age 72) Williams (both born in Vermont), no information hinting to their relationship is given.

Jennie marries Gilbert Bridenbaker in 1868.

1870; Jennie and Gilbert reside in Ashford, NY. Gilbert is a farmer and Jennie "keeps house".

By 1880 the family has grown significantly in size and they are living in Foster, PA. Children now in the family are Arthur age 9, Grace age 7, and baby age 1 month (this is Elida). Also living with the Bridenbaker family are Jennie's family. Her parents Garret and Louisa and their children Etta 19, Daniel 14, Mary 10, and Gilbert 8.
Unfortunately, tragedy has stricken the family and they have lost two young children; Gertrude "Gertie" 1876-1879 and Earl 1878-1880.

1892 the family is living in Franklinville, NY. Children are Arthur, Claude, Elida (Lydia), Wallace, Clyde, and Firna (Fern). Of special note: living in the house next door is their daughter Grace, now married to Fred Sands. She is more than likely pregnant with her only child Hazel Pearl Sands, born that year in 1892. This is the last census Grace appears on as she dies in 1898.

Jumping to 1900. Jennie and Gilbert are living in Napoli, NY in a full house.
Their sons: Claude age 19, Wallace age 15, Clyde age 13.
Their daughters: Fern age 9, Georgia age 7, Clorie (or Cloria) age 4. Also their married daughter Elida age 21, her husband Daniel Donaldson age 32, and their daughter Jennie A Donaldson age 2.
As mentioned before, their daughter Grace has died.
Grace (Bridenbaker) Sands 1873-1898.

10 years later on the 1910 census Jennie and Gilbert are living in Centerville, NY. In the home with them are:
Son Clyde age 23, daughters: Fern age 19, Georgia age 17 and Clorie age 15. (*Clorie is listed as Clara)

1915, Gilbert and Sarah Jane (Jennie) are living in Freedom, NY. The only member living with them in the house is their 5 year old grandson Albert, (son of Wallace Bridenbaker). It is unclear to the reason why or where Wallace and his wife Mary are at.
