Mildred Doris (Millie) Parrish, 84, of Colcord, OK, passed away Monday, June 15th, 2009, peacefully at her daughter's home. Millie was born in Claremore, OK on August 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Thelma R. (Eddleman) Brown. She graduated from Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa, OK. Her first marriage was to W.K. Aubrey, who died in July of 1979, and her second marriage was to Ralph Parrish Jr. in 1946 in Bartlesville, OK who died in 1977. During WWII, Millie worked as a Teletype Operator for Western Union in Tulsa, OK. She later worked in commercial loans at Chase Bank (formerly Texas Commerce Bank in Houston, TX. for 29 years, retiring in 1987. Millie enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing cards. Millie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments in life. Millie is survived by three daughters: Teresa A. Aubrey of Jay, OK, Jan P. Bass and husband Stephen (Sam) of Colcord, OK, and Gloria L. Hammond and husband Karl of Houston, TX. Five grandchildren: Hazmat Inspector Randall M. Hattox and wife Trisha of Australia, NIC, Unit Nurse Kimberly T. Hattox, of Houston, TX, Deputy Sheriff, Anthony Ross and wife Kim of Spurger, TX, LT. CMDR Joshua Ross, US Navy of Houston, TX and Loan Officer, Lisa Ross Gilliam, of Tennessee. Three great grandchildren: Austin, Colby, and Morganne Ross. Two nephews: Mike Adams of Oklahoma City, OK and Steven and Susan Adams and sons of El Dorado, KS and former brother-in-law Charles Adams of Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by both parents and sister: Thelma (Boots) Adams who died in 1985. Service will be 11 a.m., Friday June 19, 2009, at Funeral Services of Grand Lake Chapel, Jay, OK, with Chaplain Tom Branch officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m., Friday at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
