He was born in Highland County June 8, 1885, a son of E. Young and Nancy (Armstrong) Diehl.
He had operated a service station at Jollivue for several years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Deaver and Mrs. Hallie D Pence, both of Staunton, and a son Walter R. Diehl of Livermore. Calif.
His wife. Mrs. Lona Dell (Arehart) Diehl preceded him in death.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Freeman J. Hamrick, pastor of Staunton Church of the Nazarene.
The body is at the Rosen Funeral Home. Middlebrook, where the family will receive friends from 7 8 o'clock this evening.
