William Thomas Diehl, 67, of September Lane, Charlotte. N. C., formerly of Beaver, died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday after a brief illness.

He was born Oct. 14, 1895, at Swope, a son of the late Elijah and Nancy Armstrong Diehl.

He was employed by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad as a stationary engineer at Charlotte at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Beaver Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Sullivan Diehl; one son, V. H. Diehl of Charlotte; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Moody of Charlotte, and Mrs. Wilson Chaffin of Varney; and two brothers, Walter Diehl of Charlotte, and Joseph Diehl of Alexandria, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. E. W. Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Meadows, Sherman Akers, Jack Rakes, Frank Rakes, Robert. Richmond, and Jack Richmond.
