John Buxton Williams was the son of Henry Guston Williams and his wife Lucy Barker Tunstall. He was the husband of Tempe Hilliard of Nash Co. Her parents were James and Mourning Bodie Hilliard. He was the father of 10 children: Tempe, James, Henry, John, Solomon, Jonas, Romeo, Thomas, Buxton and Lucy.
