Dr. Burry was born June 12, 1929, in Taylors to the late Harvey Harrison Burry and Ethel Cox Burry. He received his Doctorate Degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, a Masters of Education Degree from Furman University, a Bachelors of Science from Presbyterian University and a Bachelors of Art from Brevard College. Dr. Burry was a Chemistry Professor at North Greenville College before attending Dental School. He was a member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church, where he was the assistant teacher of the Larry Wooten Sunday School Class. He was a co-founder of Fletcher Funeral Service, and a partner in Burry & Sons Home Builders. He retired from Dentistry after 35 years of service in the Fountain Inn Community. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are a son, Jim Burry and his wife, Kathy; three daughters, Debra Warren and her husband, Rev. Wayne, Judy Cooper and her husband, Terry, and Brenda Burry, all of Fountain Inn; a sister, Evelyn Wood of Greenville; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
