Newspaper unkown; undated: "Helene Amelia Marie Schmidt was born on July 31, 1895, to August Krenke and Christine nee Roehrs.

"As an infant she was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hebron, by Rev. Albert Groerich. She was confirmed on April 4, 1909, by Rev. H. Schabacker.

"On Oct. 5, 1920, she was united in marriage to Fred Schmidt. She was alife long member of Trinity Lutheran church.

"When her health failed, she made her home at Parkview Haven in Deshler where she remained until her death on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the age of 78 years, three months and 6 days.

"She was preceded in death by her husband, in November 1962; one grandchild, one great-grandchild, one sister and one brother.

"She is survived by her children:

"Ray and wife, Georgia, of Filer, Idaho; Walter and wife, Lessie, of Newton, Kansas; Ella and her husband, Chris Baden, of Hebron; Orville andhis wife, Claudine, of Deshler; Velma and her husband, Lauren Schleif, of Caldwell, Idaho; Florence and her husband, Ray Lassen, of Filer, Idaho; Marvin and his wife, Helen, of Davenport; Leonard of Hebron; Arnold and his wife, Ruth, of Union, Missouri; Frances and her husband, Jack Drews, of Danville, Illinois; and Fred of Hebron.

"Also surviving are brothers, Rhine of Lincoln, Theodore and wife, Mathilda of Hebron, and Henry and his wife, Gertrude of Deshler. Forthy-five grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

"The funeral service was conducted Saturday afternoon from Trinity Lutheran church, Hebron. The Rev. John D. Kovac officiated. His sermon was based on Genesis 12:1. The congregation sang 'Asleep In Jesus, Blessed Sleep' and 'When My Last Hour Is Close at Hand.'

"Pallbearers were Wayne Schmidt, Curtis Schmidt, Marvin Baden, Darrel Schmidt, Roger Lassen and Lowell Schmidt.

"Interment was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Ahrends Funeral Home of Deshler was in charge of arrangements."
