Josie Marie Piazza Collier Sulphur - On March 29, 1932, an angel, Josie Marie Piazza, arrived into the arms of her loving parents, Joe and Frances Graffagnino Piazza. On Tuesday, February 3, 2009, an angel, Josie Marie Piazza Collier, left this earth and was met with open arms by all her beloved family that had gone on before her.

Those greeting her were her parents, her sisters, Lena and husband, George Nix, Lillie May and husband Vick Vickery, Frances and husband Austin Rutherford, her brothers, Martin Piazza, Anthony (Red) Piazza and wife Joann, Carlo Piazza and Steve Piazza and her sister-in-law, Tressie Piazza. Also embracing her was her son, Danny Lynn Collier and her grandson, Jeffrie Paul Cole, Sr.

Those left to cherish her wonderful spirit and love of life are her devoted husband of sixty years, Daniel Webster Collier of Sulphur. Her daughter, Jolene Frances and husband Richard J. Cole, Sr. (Jody) of Sulphur. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Richard J. Cole, Jr. and wife Dawn of Sulphur, James Daniel Cole and wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, Amanda Gail Collier and Clayton Daniel Collier of Huntsville, Texas. Surviving great grandchildren are Jeffrie Paul Cole, Jr., Jaron Paul Cole, Ryan Joseph Cole, Jonathan Christian Cole of Sulphur and Victoria Slone Cole of Baton Rouge. Other survivors are her brothers, Jack and Rose Piazza of Beaumont, TX, Camille Piazza of Rice, TX and Joe Piazza of Bridge City, TX. There are many nieces, nephew, cousins and dear friends who will feel her loss and miss that endearing smile. Also among her survivors is her four legged Pug, Caesar.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at Hixson-Sulphur Memrorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
