SULLIVAN - Blanche Sutton, 91, of Sullivan passed away at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Sullivan Health Care Center, Sullivan.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Branchside Cemetery, Gays. Memorials may be made to the Highway Church of Christ, Sullivan.
Blanche was born November 23, 1917 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William & Nellie (Sauers) Waite. She married Otis E. Sutton September 15, 1935. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1967. She & her husband operated telephone offices in both Bruce & Gays. They also owned & ran Whoopys Cafe in Arthur. Blanche later became the Postmaster at Gays & retired from that position. She was a member of the Highway Church of Christ in Sullivan.
She is survived by her brother, George (Bess) Waite of Decatur & 17 nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy & five sisters & three brothers.
