Isaiah Daniel Dusing was born in Frederick county, Maryland, February 1, 1846, where he spent his early life.
He was united in marriage to Mary J. Johnston April 17, 1864. Unto this union has been born seven children three boys and four girls. Virgie, wife of William Bazner and Arlepha, wife of Jacob Klise, departed from this life in 1899, while John and Homer of Montana; Daniel, Laura and Jennie Thomas of Bunker Hill, survive their father. Father Dusing died May 13, 1911, at the age of 65 years, three months and twelve days; mourned by wife five children and eight grandchildren. Also two brothers and two sisters of Maryland.
While a boy the war of the Rebellion broke out and at the age of fifteen he responded to his country's call. He enlisted with Company E of the First Maryland Volunteers, and afterwards was changed to the 13th Regiment where he followed his country's flag for over three and one-half years.
There will be a vacant stool at the camp fires of the Old Comrads of the J. M. Wilson, G.A.R. Post, a vacant place in the family circle and we his neighbors will miss one of our number for he was looked upon as an upright and a good citizen. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. W. S. Tracy, pastor of the Evangelical chuech, assisted by Rev. Shafer, of the Methodist church.
