Born by 1613, based on estimated date of Marriage (adult when he took the oath of allegiance in Southampton in early 1634). Came to Massachusetts Bay in 1634 on the "Mary & John." First settled at Ipswich MA; moved to Newbury MA by 1638. Died in Newbury, 26 Apr 1661.
Married (1) by about 1638, Edith ____. She died at Newbury 2 Apr 1647.
(2) at Newbury, [torn] Feb 164[7/8], Elizabeth (Greenleaf) Badger, daughter of Edmund Greenleaf & widow of Giles Badger.
Richard was brother of GEORGE BROWN of Newbury.

Richard Brown, sailed from London, England in March 1634 on the Vessel "Mary and John". He traveled with his brother George and his sister Sarah and her husband, the Rev. James Noyes. They arrived in Boston, MA in May 1634. They settled first in Agawam, now Ipswich, MA, but were residents of Newbury, MA in 1635. Richard became one of the prominent citizens of Newbury. Became a Freeman on May 6, 1635. History of Andover, New Hampshire.
Richard married twice (1) Edith Holt and (2) Elizabeth (Greenleaf) Badger, widow of Giles Badger.
