Services for Dan Jeffus, 75, Lovelady, were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, at the Antoch Baptist Church in Lovelady with the Revs. Wallace Palmer and Earl Hester officiaiting.

Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Grapeland.

Mr. Jeffus died Sunday, November 7, in a Crockett Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1918, in Trinity County to the late Lemuel Franklin Jeffus and Lettie Mae Bagwell Jeffus, and was a resident of Trinity until 1983 when he moved to Lovelady. Mr. Jeffus was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired salesman for the Consumer Fuel Company. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, and was Past Master of the Lovelady Lodge No. 539 AF&AM.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jeffus was preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Johnson, Billie Nell Jeffus, Frankie Mae Atkinson and Locie Wright and two brothers, Ira Lee and Gleason B. Jeffus.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lois Calvert Jeffus of Lovelady; four daughters and sons-in-law, Vern and Gary Manley of Houston, Ala., Dana and Maurice Coleman of Lovelady, Anna and Rusty Bishop of Detroit, Mich., and Susan and Danny Gearhart of Trinity; three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Bill Jeffus of Austin, Bob and Carolyn Jeffus of Plano and David and Barbara Jeffus of Lovelady; one sister, Jean Adams of Lovelady; three brothers, Finton Jeffus of Frankston, Herman G. Jeffus of Grapeland and David Jeffus of Nacogdoches; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Nephews served as pallbearers.
