Margaret Ann Carter, aged 100, of Temple, TX died Thursday, May 28 in Temple. She was born January 22, 1892 in Boone County, a daughter of James Callaway and Nancy Matilda Acuff Jones.
She was a homemaker and a member of Western Hills Church of Christ in Temple, where she has lived since 1984. She was a prior resident of Harrison and Missouri.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Carter of New Philadelphia, OH and Don Carter of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Johnie Davis of Belle Plaine, KA and Anne Francis of Temple; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Carter, a son and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at the Bergman Church of Christ with a grandson officiating. Burial will be in the York Cemetery under the direction of Christeson Funeral Home.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.
