Ralph Lee Banta

Ralph Lee Banta was born May 6, 1918, in Rawlins, WY, a son of Jerome D. and Julia (Vacik) Banta. He departed this life September 25, 1994 in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 76.

Banta had lived in Carroll County all of his life, where he was the owner of Banta's Orchard until 1990. He was Past Worshipful master of Yell Lodge #64 in Green Forest, a ham radio operator and loved music and restoring old phonographs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Freeda (Bishop) Banta; three brothers, George, Jerome and Paul Banta; and one sister, Joan (Banta) Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Delores (Braatz) Banta of the home; one son, Don Banta of Bastrop, LA; one step-daughter, Dawn Davis of Eureka Springs; one sister, Juanita Penman of Rawlins, WY; three grandchildren, Sessali, Nathanael, and Nicholas Banta all of Bastrop; and one step-grandchild, Jessica Davis of Eureka Springs.

Funeral services were September 27 at Holt Memorial chapel in Harrison with Rev. Kenneth Haydon officiating. Interment was in the Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, AR.
