BASS, Sarah E. age 86, of Eagan, Minnesota, died after a struggle with cancer on June 11, 2009. She was born August 29, 1922 in Kingston, Michigan, daughter of the late Lewis and Nellie Richard DeGrow.
Sarah was a graduate of Kingston High School and later nursing school at Saint Joseph School of Nursing in Ann Arbor where she became an L.P.N.
On July 6, 1940 she married Stanley Thomas Bass at the DeGrow family home. He predeceased her May 17, 1981.
She was employed at the Lapeer Regional Medical Center for 25 years. She attended the United Methodist Church in Oxford. She was a resident of Oxford for more than 50 years before moving to Eagan, Minnesota to be near her daughter.
Surviving are her sister Cora and husband Willi Henny of Pickens, South Carolina and sister Joyce and husband Robert Smith of Pigeon, Michigan; children and their spouses, Janet Damer of Rosemount, Minnesota, Robert and Heidi Bass of Clarkston, Michigan and Douglas and Charlotte Bass of Reno, Nevada; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Richard and Gerald DeGrow.
