Fannie Maria Holmes was born on April 27, 1837, in Unadilla Center, Otsego, NY., daughter of Amos and Phebe Haynes Holmes. She married Robert Starr Balestier in 1868 in Unadilla, New York. They had four children during their marriage. She died on August 26, 1915, in Los Angeles, California, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried in Unadilla, New York. She was the 2nd wife of Robert S Balestier and the sister of his 1st wife Mary Holmes.
