Mrs. Nettie Yarwood passed away at her home in Mohler Nov 2, 1956. Early in September she underwent an operation. Nettie Patty, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Patty, was born May 3, 1878 near Little Rock, Arkansas. Her parents decided to move west, and Apr 20, 1884, packed in a covered wagon with their nine children, started the long overland trip. The first week in Sept the wagon party arrived in the Grand Round Valley in Oregon. In 1886 the Pattys and the Moores moved to Harrington. Nettie Patty and Joseph Yarwood were married Feb 16, 1895. They made Harrington their home for a while, and owned a hotel. They later moved to Walla Walla, then Seattle, and in 1904 returned and made Mohler their home. Preceding Mrs. Yarwood in death were a son, Howard in 1905; step-son Jessie in 1949; her husband in 1938; and in 1952 her son David, a missionary in Bolivia, was tragically killed by savages.
