Cecil Marlow of Cookeville died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was 86. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 26, in the chapel of the Baxter Funeral Home. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were his brothers and sisters. Brother Tim Bennett officiated.

Cecil was a loving father, husband and farmer. He attended Burgess Falls Road Baptist Church and loved his bible. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While on duty in Germany, he had the happy fortune to come upon his younger brother, Bill, who was also serving there. (See photo.)

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife (Pauline), his son, both of his daughters, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Mettie Vickers Marlow.
