Death of George Dietrick

One of the Most Prominent Members of the Saengerbund

George Dietrick, who was known from one end of Brooklyn to the other, died yesterday in the 63rd year of his age, at his home on Livingstone street. Mr. Dietrick was born May 20, 1832 in Germany, and came to Brooklyn in 1850. He was of a genial disposition and made friends fast and his love of industry soon led him into active and lucrative business for himself as a tailor. He was fond of music, helped the art whenever he could in his own way and soon became a prominent member of the Brooklyn Saegerbund. He was generous and kind and gave freely of his means, which were ample. The funeral services will be held at the German Lutheran Church on Schermerhorn Street, near Court, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, and members of the Saengerbund will attend the services in a body. Mr. Dietrick leaves no wife or children.
