Georgia Grace Pennington, 87, of Russell, Ky., a former Lucasville resident, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.

She was born Sept 14, 1921, in New Boston, Ohio, a daughter of the late George Allen and Lavina Schneider Channel.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Pennington, Nov. 6, 2005; and three brothers, Bill, Don and Gary Channel.

Georgia was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Russell, and a 1942 Valley High School graduate.

She is survived by one son, Keith (Cathy) Pennington of Russell, Ky.; two grandchildren Alex Pennington and Melissa (Jason) Blair; and one sister, Joann Massey of Sciotoville.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with the Rev. Tim Gowin officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
