Joan May Dearth, 75
GREENWOOD - Joan May Dearth, of Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Milford. She was 75. Joan was born in Milford on Nov. 2, 1933, to the late Elmer and Junie Caldwell Morgan. She was a waitress at the Milford Dinner. Mrs. Dearth was a member of the Federalsburg Seventh Day Aventist Church. Joan loved to do crosswords puzzles, sew, and crochet, making afghans for all of her children and grandchildren. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Dearth; and two brothers, Ralph and James Morgan. She is survived by her husband, Sherman, of 60 years; five children and their spouses, Barbara Negron of Lakeland, Fla., Linda Pechin of Georgetown, Jerry Dearth of Byhalia, Ms, Connie Dearth of Greenwood, and Karen Countryman of Harrington; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Morgan of Milford; three sisters, Leatha Banning of Milford, Ethel Craft of Milford, and Ruth Boyce of Seaford; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market St., Greenwood, friends and family may call at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
