Funeral services were held for Joe Fladland in the Faith Lutheran church, Forest Lake, at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14 with the Rev. Frank E. Johnson officiation. The soloist was Harry Swanson of Geneva, Ill., accompanied at the organ by E.A. Raymond. There were many beautiful floral offerings from friends and relatives. Burial was in the Stacy cemetery. Joe Fladland, who passed away at his home in Forest Lake at 3:30 p.m. June 11 at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 13 days of a heart attack. He had suffered an earlier attack some time ago. Mr. Fladland, who was born September 29, 1888 in Kenyon, Minnesota, served Forest Lake for several years as village police officer and constable, before his retirement a few years ago. He had also been employed by the E.J. Houle company for 18 years. On December 10, 1912 he married Emma Danielson in Minneapolis After having lived in Lake Park, Stacy and Minneapolis, he came to Forest Lake in 1918. He is survived by a son; two daughters; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers.
