Annie Butler Bennett, 94, of 313 Bennett Farm Road, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Countryside Manor, Stokesdale, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Sharon Baptist Church, Iron Works Road, Reidsville, NC, with the Reverend Tom Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bennett was born October 14, 1914, in Rockingham County, to the late Ed and Lizzie Butler. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, sewing and visiting with friends and family. She was well known for her infectious smile and laughter and gift of hospitality. Her never ending offer of a Coca-Cola when walking into the home will be remembered.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John Butler and Amos Butler, and sisters, Isabelle Butler, Wilma Cummings, and Thelma Small.

Survivors include of her husband of 73 years, David Bennett; sons, Bert Bennett and wife, Betty, of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Boyd Bennett and wife, Ann, of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Michael Bennett and wife, Hollie, Lori Bennett, David Bennett and Rachel Bennett.
