Obituary:

HYRUM, UTAH: Edward Charles Judd, 88, died peacefully at his home in Hyrum on Dec 29, 2004. The oldest of 5 children, he was born April 13, 1916, to Hazel A. and David E. Judd in Salt Lake City.

He served in the German-Austrian Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1935 - 1938. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1939 with a bachelor's degree in business.

In October of 1941 Ted married Jeannette Clawson in Salt Lake City. They had four children. Ted bought his father's ranch in Summit County and ran cattle rather than sheep as his father had. He brought the very first Morgan horses into Utah from the East, and had two well-known stallions: Golden Jubilee and Stetson. In order to support his family and still keep his ranch, Ted worked three jobs for many years. Other than his family, the ranch and his horses were the great loves of his life. The family accompanied him on a Church Real Estate Mission back to Germany from 1963 - 1967.

In 1984 he married Marie Willis Wybrow in Port Townsend, W A and they moved to Hyrum, Utah. Ted was a high priest who served in many capacities in the Church, including a 5 year mission with his wife, Marie, officiating at the Logan Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Hyrum; his sisters, Margery Stoddard of Hooper, Marilyn (Nishan) Sheranian of Salt Lake City, and Patsy (Bud) Stone of Modesto, CA; his brother, Stoddard (Valene) Judd of Salt Lake City; his children, Julie (Duane) Dahl of LaPoint, Daniel (Carla) Judd of St. George, Josephine (Gregory) Leonard of Salt Lake City, Jeanne (Keith) Davis of Paradise, Tag (Connie) Wybrow of Hyrum, Matt (Kathy) Wybrow of Ogden, and Kim Wybrow of Hooper; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannette; his oldest son, Dr. Curtis Judd; and a grandson, Robbie Turley.

Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of Bishop James C. Graham at 11 :30 am on Monday, Jan 3, 2005, at the Hyrum Stake Center, 600 S 200 E, Hyrum, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00 - 11 :00 that morning at the stake center. Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.
