Edmund Ruffin writes in his journal (Vol. II) on July 26th, 1862;
'Heard from Dr. Dupuy that his brother, & my nephew, A. M. Dupuy was dead, of typhoid fever. A valuable man. His death will be a great affliction & loss to his wife & mother especially, & regretted by all who knew him.'
I believe this to be the same A. M. Dupuy buried here.
