Jesse Tallent founded the Tallent community in the north end of Bollinger Co., Mo. He founded a general store and post office. Although the post office closed, the community is still known as Tallent. At age 49, he was kicked by a mule which resulted in a broken leg. The leg became infected, gangrene set in and Jesse died of complications.
