Vernie Mae Crowe Henry, 72, of 3097 North Middletown Road in Paris, formerly of Winchester, widow of James Daniel Henry, died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday at her home.

A native of Clark County, she was the daughter of the late Elba and Hazel Spencer Crowe. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ark of Mercy Church of God.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Henry of Winchester and Gary Crowe of Mount Sterling; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Engle of Winchester and Carolyn and James Rose of Paris; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers, Billy Crowe and Paul Crowe of Clark County; Homer Crowe of Richmond and Dallas Crowe of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Beulah Canter of Winchester and Gene Switzer of Lexington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ark of Mercy Church of God on Winn Avenue by Rev. Janice Claypoole. Burial will be in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Stanfield, Lee Crowe, Dennis Scott Henry, Verlon Canter, Paul Crowe and Jim Bob Lawson.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Scobee Funeral Home.
