Services for Joe Henry Huff, 83, of Grapeland will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Grapeland with David Bradley, Charles Haley, and Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating. Burial will follow in Dailey Community Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home Chapel, Grapeland. Mr. Huff died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Winfield Nursing Home in Crockett. He was born March 4, 1926 in Houston County to Hill and Lena Belle Warner Huff. Mr. Huff was a farmer and rancher and had worked for Nucor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eva Starr, and Effie Lively; brothers, Fagan Huff, Albert Neal Huff, Pete Huff, and William Huff. Mr. Huff is survived by his wife, Aileen Brown Huff; daughter, Paula Byrd and husband Tommy; son, Mark Huff and Donna; sister, Eula Lavalle; grandchildren, Jeremy Byrd, Julie Patton, Bryan Huff, and Brandy Link; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Raymond Langford, Lenora Pennington, Dorothy Tutt, Bobbie Walker, and Jean Shepherd. Pallbearers will be Gene Lively, Rajah Huff, Sheldon Huff, Clyde McKinney, Billy McKinney, Todd Shaver, Don Starkey, and Raymond Langford. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Huff, Wendell Warner, and David Shaver. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home Chapel, Grapeland.
