Mrs. Patch worked for 20 years at the Slimaker Dress Factory and later worked for five years at the Horton Garment Co. At the time of her death she was employed part time with Lee's Flowers in Holton, where she had worked since 1977.
She was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Bigelow, the daughter of Samuel F. and Goldie O. Thurman Whaley. She graduated from Goff High School in 1937 and moved to Holton in 1945.
Mrs. Patch was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton and a former member of the Holton Saddle Club.
She married Elvin Watkins on Nov. 27, 1937, in Soldier. He died on Feb. 9, 1972. She married Thomas Patch on Feb. 28, 1975. He died on Oct. 21, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Leslie Watkins, Holton; a daughter, Judy Anweiler, Soldier; three sisters, Viola Ruse, Manson, Wash., Esther Sourk, Chelan, Wash., and Darlene Holliday, Omak, Wash.; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Soldier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Friends of Hospice or to Holton Community Hospital Home Health and sent in care of the funeral home.
