LAPORTE, Ind. -- Services were conducted Sunday for Elva V. Willson, 94, 1699 E. Division Road, LaPorte, formerly of Kokomo and Bennetts Switch. Burial was in Rolling Prairie Cemetery here.
She died in LaPorte Hospital at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1980, following an extended illness.
She was born April 3, 1895, in Galveston, the daughter of John and Rachael (Castor) Coomler. She was married in Kokomo May 20, 1966, to the late Charles F. Willson.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Rachael) Allen of LaPorte; two sons, John Willson of Newburgh, N. Y., and Ernest Willson of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) McQuiston of Sarasota, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. A daughter and four sons preceded her in death.
A LaPorte County resident for 40 years, she was employed as a practical nurse and was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, LaPorte Hospital Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold-Star Mother.
