Mildred Rextrew

Mildred Rextrew, 89, of Wiggins, CO., former Wenatchee resident, died Monday at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO.
She was born February 21, 1914 in Red Ash, Kentucky to Joseph and Fannie (Barker) Patrick. After she graduated from high school she attended college for six years, receiving her masters degree in education. She was a school teacher from that time until her retirement in 1977. Mrs. Rextrew first lived in Wenatchee, Washington where she married Karl Albert Rextrew.
The family then moved to Kodiak, Alaska, and from Kodiak to Englewood, CO, and from Englewood to Nederland, CO. They also lived in Yuma, Arizona for some time, until 1995 when Mildred made her home in Wiggins, CO. Mrs. Rextrew was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee, WA and the Order of Eastern Star in Kodiak, Alaska. She liked doing handiwork and knitting for craft fairs. She also enjoyed going to auctions with her daughter and she loved to travel.
Mrs. Rextrew is survived by her daughter, Karen Espedal of Wiggins, CO and two grandchildren; Cynthia Espedal and Joseph Espedal, Jr.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances McLean; two brothers, William and Joseph Patrick and her parents.
A farewell service will be held in Mildred's honor Monday, May 5th at Wenatchee City Cemetery at 2:00pm.
