A.Y. Allee, Jr., Texas Ranger
Jan 22, 1934 - Jan 12, 2006

We sadly report the January 12th passing of former Texas Ranger A. Y. Allee, Jr., who died just 10 days prior to his 72nd birthday. He is survived by son Rod Allee of Midland, Texas, and daughter Laurie Whiteaker of San Angelo, Texas.

Born on January 22, 1934 in Beeville, Texas, he was raised in Carrizo Springs and graduated high school there. He joined the communications division of the Department of Public Safety in 1952 as a radio dispatch operator. In 1955, Allee entered the Texas Highway Patrol and served in San Angelo, San Antonio and Del Rio.

In 1961, Allee, Jr. joined the Texas Rangers, Company "E", first stationed in Del Rio, then in Midland, Ozona, and Alpine. At the time of his retirement in 1976, he was back
in Midland. For several years after retiring from the Texas Rangers, Allee worked for the Brewster County Sheriff's Department in Alpine.

When A. Y. Allee, Jr. became a Texas Ranger, he followed a family tradition for four generations in the making-his father Captain A. Y. Allee, Sr., was a Ranger from 1931
to 1970, his grandfather Alonzo W. Allee, was a Special Ranger, and great grandfather A. Y. Allee was also a Texas Ranger.
