Mary Ann Nance, daughter of Jesse and Arizona Brumley Nance, was born at Witty, Missouri, on February 1, 1901, and departed this life on August 9, 1962, at the age of 61 years, 6 months, 8 days.
She was married to John Hammons on April 8, 1919, at Witty, Missouri.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hammons is survived by three sons and four daughters, Lewis Hammons, Tacoma, Washington; Lawrence Hammons, Bradleyville; Mrs. Lula Hodges, Bradleyville, Mrs. Maxine Hodges, Willard, Missouri; Mrs. Frances Scribner, Oldfield, Missouri; Mrs. Cecil Sartin, Twin Falls, Idaho; Howard Hammons, Wichita. also 21 grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Nellie Brown, Yakima, Washington; Mrs. Frances Belieu, of Yakima; Marion Nance, Tacoma, Washington; Isaac Nance, Yakima. Other relatives and many friends.
Although ill for weeks, much time in the hospital. She was patient in suffering, and expressed her hope in her Savior, saying she was right with God. We do not weep, as those who have no hope, but trust to meet companion, mother, sister, and friend, when suffering and parting never come.
Funeral held at the Green Valley Church, August 11, 1962. Burial in Mills Cemetery. Message by Adah Maggard, singers were and music by Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Roberts, Bill and Helen Maggard, Janice Roberts.
Pallbearers: Loyd Hodges, Jim Hodges, Charley Hodges, Charley Gammons, Harve Herd and Jim Chapman.

Mary passed away in Springfield Baptist Hospital, where she had been for 3 weeks, her usual address was in Bradleyville, Christian, Mo. where they resided on a farm.

Married to John Hammons, who was also the informant.

Daughter of Jesse Nance and Arizona Brumley.

Burial 11 Aug. 1962 in Mills Cemetery.
