Services Held for Mrs. Henry Schmidt

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Sr. were held at the Apostolic Christian Church on Monday, September 29, 1958, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Leo Moser and Rev. Paul Banwart conducted the services. A short prayer service was held at the home preceding the church services.

The casket-bearers were six grandsons: Arnold Schmidt, Gaylord, Minnesota; Merlin, Ivan, CHarles, and Dwayne Schmidt, and Paul Anliker, all from West Bend.

Bogaard Funeral Home of West Bend was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mary Moser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Moser, was born on October 15, 1874 near West Bend and passed away at the Palo Alto Memorial Hospital in Emmetsburg on Friday, September 26, 1958, at the age of 83 years. She suffered a stroke at her home on September second and on September 24 was taken to the hospital where she died on Friday morning September 26th.

She was united in marriage to Henry J. Schmidt on April 7, 1891. To this union eleven children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt were privileged to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in 1951.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Fred and Mike; three daughters, Anna, who died in infancy, Marie, and Elizabeth (Mrs. Noah Anliker). Three grandchildren also preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn ehr passing four sons, Henry of Hutchinson, Minnesota; Chris of Humboldt; Conrad and Earnie of Ottosen; two daughters: Mrs. Raymond Wilson (Lydia) of West Bend; Mrs. James Moadinger (Esther) of Richmond, Illinois; one sister: Mrs. Lydia Strege of Hancock, Minnesota; fifty (50) grandchildren and ninety (90) great grandchildren.

Grandma Schmidt was loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic CHristian Church since 1893.

Many relatives and friends attended the services from Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota.
