HALE CENTER-G.A. Childress, 78, died yesterday.

Services will be at 2 pm tomorrow in Hale Center First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carroll Green, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman Funeral Home.

Mr. Childress was born in Center Ridge, Arkansas. He married Cerrena Bryant July 10, 1918 in Conway County, Arkansas. He moved to Hale Center in 1947 from Coweta, Oklahoma. He was a retired farmer and formerly taught the adult Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, two sons, J.Y. of Hale Center and Frank of Plainview; two daughters, Mrs. F.M. Chesbro of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Mrs. L.B. Dyer of Hale Center; two brothers, Norvin of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Gordon of Coweta, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs. Elector Willis of Haskell, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
