She was a Sunday School teacher and charter member of High Peak Baptist Church.

At the time of death she was survived by three sons, Raeford Rector, Joe Rector, and David Rector, all of Route 2, Valdese; three daughters Mrs. Magdalene Causby of Morganton, Mrs. Colene McKee of Route 2, Valdese, and Mrs. Betty Cooper of Mauldin, SC; three brothers, Earl Coffey and Harold Coffey, both of Morganton, and Herdon Coffey of Graham; six sisters, Mrs. Claude Craig of Lenoir, Mrs. Jeff Robinson and Mrs. Myrtle Oxford, both of Valdese, Mrs. Beatrice Parson of Chesterfield, Mrs. Muerl Cannon of Rahway, NJ and Mrs. Bonnie Nickelson of Greenville, SC; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
