Ida M. Richard Carpenter
Ida M. (JOHNSON) RICHARD CARPENTER, 93, of 427 Indiana Ave., died Friday at 8:50 p.m. in South Bend Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 2 1/2 weeks. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
She was born May 24, 1887 in rochester to Wiley and Effie DOUGLAS JOHNSON. She lived most of her life in this area. She first married Charles RICHARD, who preceded her in death, and then married Lester CARPENTER, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Eve) RINGLER, Pauline RICHARD, and Mrs. Charles (Olivine) COUZENS, all of South Bend; two sons, Robert "Sandy" RICHARD, Leiters, Ford, and John RICHARD, Rochester; two step-sons, Rex and Clifford, Crescent City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a brother, Alvin JOHNSON, Rt. 6, Rochester. A granddaughter, brother and half-sister preceded her in death.
Services are pending at the Foster & Good Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ida RICHARD CARPENTER were at 2 p.m. today in the Foster & Good Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred KUEBLER officiated. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Carpenter, 93, of 427 Indiana Ave., died at 8:50 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are three daughters, two sons, two step-sons, eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
