FAMILY CLIPPINGS FROM THE GLADE HIGHWAY NEWS

HOWARD H. WRIGHT, GREAT HIGHWAY BUILDER, HAS PASSED TO HIS REWARD.
---------------------
Demonstrated His Genius on Road to Brotherton and Mount Pleasant Pike
---------------------
WILL BE GREATLY MISSED
---------------------
Howard H. Wright, premier highway builder of Somerset County, aged 68, died Saturday, September 8, 1923, while at his daughter's home in Somerfield, PA.

Mr. Wright, who resided in Somerfield during the last several years, resigned his foremanship on the Mount Pleasant Pike about two months ago in order to retire from active road building, he said, and removed his household to Addison, from whence he came to Somerset.

Before becoming an expert highway builder, Mr. Wright was a master carpenter and building contractor. As a constructor of highways for the State Highway Department, Mr. Wright demonstrated great skill in building roadbeds of enduring quality and great smoothness, as was evidenced in his construction of the highway to Brotherton and the Mount Pleasant Pike, between Somerset and Laurel Hill Summit.

Mr. Wright possessed a kind disposition and sterling character. His whole lifework demonstrated the integrity of his manhood, and he will be specially missed in Somerset Grace Evangelical Church and men's Bible Class of which he was a member and regular attendant. By his death the Highway Department has lost one of its most competent constructors and the builder of good roads.

The funeral service on Tuesday was in charge of Reverend C. E. Servey, pastor, Grace Evangelical Church of Somerset.
