Lewis Evelyn Grizzle, b. 16 Aug 1918, d. 27 Jun 1973. Military Inscription: Texas; TEC 5 US ARMY; WORLD WAR II

Note: I realize the spelling of the middle name varies between the memorial and this marker. Lewis's middle name was derived from his mother Iva's twin sister, Eva. I am not certain of the correct spelling, but it may well be that the maker is wrong. Will try to remember to update this memorial when I make a determination from official records.

The reason I think the correct spelling is Evalyn is because his mother Iva and her twin sister Eva had agreed to name their first born child after each other. Both were males. Eva named her son Ivalyn Prentiss Hightower.
