Laura M. Morin, 87, a longtime Sumas resident, passed away in Bellingham nursing home on Friday, August 21, 1992.
Laura was born in Junction City, Kansas on September 9, 1904 the daughter of William and Clarabelle Harvey. Following the death of her father, Laura's family moved to Alberta in 1911. From Alberta she moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and then in 1952 she moved back to the States to live in Sumas, Wash. She was employed at the Grand Hotel in Sumas, Wash. until her retirement. Since 1988 she has been living in St. Francis Nursing Home in Bellingham, Wash. Laura untill her passing on August 21, 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Hoversland of Williams Lake, B.C. and eight grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Clarabelle Harvey (1934), father; William H. Harvey (1910), and daughter; Lillian Elaine Pearl nee Harvey, Pearson (Nov. 29, 1965).
Pallbearers were: George McKay, Stephen McKay, Wayne McKay,
Mitchell McKay, Tom Brown and Darcy Gertz.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the chapel of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden with Pastor Carl Crouse officiating. Burial will follow in Sumas Cemetery.
