obit - Charles Andres Glassgow was born at Cadiz, Harrison county, Ohio, Apr 25, 1843 and died Dec 5, 1837 in Dallas twp, Taylor co, Iowa. He was the son of William C. who moved from Ohio to Illinois at an early date and then settled on a farm in Dallas twp in 1857. He was the youngest of nine children. He married Mary E. McAlpin Mar 21, 1867. He served in the war in Co A 4th Ia Cav. He served as a guard on the train which carried Jefferson Davis as prisoner from Washington, Ga to Macon, Ga.
