Jerrolyn Agnes Byrd, 74, died Friday morning in a local hospital. She was born in Douds, Iowa July 25, 1934 to Gerald and Catherine (Roberts) Weir. She was raised and educated in Iowa and moved to Butte in 1952. She married Thomas M. Byrd in 1961 and they later divorced.

Jerrolyn attended the Butte Business College where she received an honor award for good work. She also attended Vo-Tech for a year in Butte and in Billings. She stayed busy as a mother of eight and also worked as a bookkeeper for National Film Service, Woolworth's and Buttrey Foods in Billings.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Peggy Ann and Jack Lister of Clarksville, Tenn., Michael Alan and Rebecca Byrd of Broomfield, Colo., Vickie Lynn and John Duran of Butte, Cathy Lee Mikes of George, Iowa, Margie Kay and Elbert Barton of Petal, Miss., Terri Jo Byrd of Butte, Thomas Martin "Marty" Byrd and fiancée Karmen Morrow of Aurora, Colo., David Ray and Anneli Byrd of Provo, Utah, 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy Joan McKittrick of Iowa City, Iowa, Jeanne Leilani and Paul Houk of Davenport, Iowa, brothers and sisters-in-law, James Weldy of Davenport, Iowa, Charles Michael and Janice Weir of Davenport, John Roger and Brenda Miller of St. Paul, Minn., Steven and Mary Miller of Minneapolis, Minn., Gerald L. Weir of Butte and step-sisters, Hilma Parks and Irene Hardy both of Butte. Jerrolyn is preceded in death by her sisters, Jacquelyn Burns, Joy Marlene Weir and her grandson, David Ryan Byrd.

Mrs. Byrd's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call beginning Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in the funeral home under the auspices of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Hayes-Morris House in Butte.
