Benjamin Purifoy Harrelson died at his home in Green Sea section on Tuesday night, October 19th, 1937 at 9:30 o'clock.
Mr. Harrelson was born on July 10th, 1866, therefore he was seventy-one years, three months and nine days of age at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock in the afternoon, October 20th, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, of which; church Mr. Harrelson was a devoted member.
He is survived by his widow Mrs. Nancy C. Harrelson and the following children: T. C. Harrelson, O. T. Harrelson, U. S. Harrelson, and Mrs. E. W. Dawsey all of Horry County.
Mr. Harrelson was a very useful citizen in his section of the county. He filled the office of magistrate there for a period of thirty-three years, retiring from that position in the year 1933. He was a good neighbor, an excellent adviser for those consulted him throughout that section where he lived.
