A Casey County native, she was born Nov. 11, 1910, daughter of the late Jack and Bertha Toadvine Sims. She and her husband operated gorcery stores for several years. She was a homemaker, member of Freedom Christian Church, and had recently been attending Southside Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include a son, Emery May, Campbellsville; a daughter, Anna Lee (Gerald) Leigh, Science Hill; three brothers, Chester, Lewis and Arley Sims, all of Casey County; three sisters, Mary Belle Jett and Beatrice Lape, both of Cincinnati, and June Cain, Somerset; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Taylor May, whom she married Feb. 10, 1927, and who died Oct. 3, 1988; two sons, Junior and Jerry May, who died in infancy; and five brothers, Ernest, Alvin, Estill, Samuel, and Billy Sims.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with the Revs. Kerry Murphy and Tracy Valentine officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
