Mrs. Catherine Swift died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Conarty, of the Ruleton community last Saturday, August 8, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 25 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Moore and was born at Columbus, Indiana, on March 14, 1845. She came to Kansas in the year of 1876 and was united in marriage to William S. Swift, on July 25, 1882. To this union three children were born, James E. Swift of Norton, Mrs. Nellie Hansen and Mrs. Nettie Conarty, both of Ruleton. The hudband died on May 14, 1919.
Besides the three children there are left to mourn the parting of the deceased, one sister of Kingfisher, Oklahoma and ten grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
The funeral was held at the Conarty home, Monday forenoon and the remains were taken to Norton for interment.
