Maiden, N.C. - Letty "Sue" Church Horton, 79, of Foxwood Drive in Maiden, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009, at her residence.

Born May 1, 1930, in Howell County, Mo., she was the daughter of the late John Edward Church and Sadie Bernice Neel Church.

Mrs. Horton retired from the textile industry.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Dempsey L. Horton; one daughter, Debra Dellinger; three brothers, Noah, F.M. and C.C. Church; and two sisters, Melba Frame and Rebecca Yancey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Deonna Mize of Tulsa, Okla., Tracy Chapman and husband, Ronnie, of Blanchard, Okla., and Mabel Whitlock and husband, Jeff, of Maiden; three sons, Edwin Horton and wife, Linda, of Gastonia, Johnny Horton and wife, Diane, of Ellenboro and Terry Horton of Shelby; one sister, Evelyn Rust of Missouri; 15 grandchildren, Eddie, Susan, Jay, Scott, Joey, Neil, Ricky, John, Tiffany, Valerie, Jessica, Christopher, Dustin, Reba and Brittiany; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
